Terms of sale
Short, and specific. These are the terms for a custom or semi-custom ring made through this site, written so that you can read them once and know where you stand.
Where the ring is made, before anything else
The ring is designed with you in Southern Utah and made at the workshop we have partnered with for years. It is not made in the United States, and we do not claim that it is. The sizing, the stone setting and the finishing are done here at the bench in St. George, by a jeweller — which is the part that decides how the ring wears and what happens if it ever needs something.
We would rather say this up front than have you find it out later, because it is also the honest answer to why the price is what it is.
Prices, and how long a quote holds
- Every price you see on this site is calculated live from the current metal price and the size of the stone you have chosen. It is not a hand-typed number, so it moves when the metal market moves.
- A written quote we send you is held for 30 days.
- The all-in price includes the metal, the centre stone, the setting, the sizing and the finish. There is no separate setting charge and no surprise at the end.
- Diamond and metal prices are outside our control, so if a quote has expired we will re-price it against the current market and tell you the difference before you decide anything.
The deposit
- The drawing and the exact price are free and carry no obligation. You will not be asked for anything to receive them.
- If you approve the drawing and want us to build the ring, there is a $20 deposit to start. It comes off the final price — it is a commitment, not a fee.
Timing
Two clocks, and they are different:
- 48 hours for your CAD drawing and exact price, from the point we have what we need from you.
- Roughly two weeks (12–15 days) of production once you approve the drawing, and then a short further step here while the stone is set and the ring is finished.
- We will give you a date in writing before you pay anything, and if a date is tight — a proposal, a wedding — tell us at the start. Sober advice: do not leave a date that matters to a three-week margin.
The fit, and what happens if it is wrong
Sizing is included in the price of the ring. If it does not fit, it comes back to the bench in St. George, not to a warehouse, and it is corrected here.
This is the practical reason to buy from a jeweller rather than a mail-order listing, and it is why we would rather you guess slightly large: a ring that is a little loose gets worn, and a ring that is a little tight gets left in a drawer.
Repairs, wear and our workmanship
If something is wrong with the making — a stone comes loose, a setting fails, a joint gives — bring it back and we will put it right. That is our work and our responsibility.
Damage from wear and accidents is different: it is repairable, it is quoted before any work starts, and it is done here at the bench. Honest expectations on both: a ring worn every day for forty years will need attention at some point, and a prong that catches on a coat is a repair, not a defect.
Custom means custom
A ring made to your drawing is made for one person and cannot be sold to anyone else. That has consequences you should know before you approve a drawing:
- A ready-made ring can be returned for a change of mind. A ring made to your specification cannot, which is why the drawing stage exists and why we ask you to look at it properly.
- Nothing is charged for the drawing, and changing your mind at that stage costs you nothing at all.
- If we made something that is not what you approved, that is on us and we fix it.
Photographs of your ring
We will ask before we ever publish a photo of a ring we made for you, and you are free to say no. If you say yes and change your mind, tell us and it comes down.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, and any dispute would be handled in Utah. The short version: we are a small business in St. George, you can telephone the person who made your ring, and we would rather sort anything out across the bench than in writing.
Questions people actually ask
Do I pay anything for the drawing?
No. The CAD drawing and the exact price are free and there is no obligation. The $20 deposit only applies if you approve the drawing and want the ring built, and it comes off the final price.
Can I cancel after I approve the drawing?
Tell us as early as you can. Before the ring goes into production, cancelling costs you the $20 deposit and nothing more. Once it is being made to your specification, email us and we will be straight with you about where it has got to and what is possible.
What if the ring does not fit when I give it to her?
Sizing is included in the price and it is done at the bench in St. George. It is a quick job, and it is the main practical reason to buy from a jeweller rather than a warehouse.
